As an Engineering Manager on Yelp’s Pro Response Quality team, you will lead the way in advancing the success of our Services marketplace. You’ll play a pivotal role in building experiences that help professionals succeed on the platform and be effortlessly hired by consumers. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and inspire a talented full-stack team of engineers across frontend, backend, iOS, and Android to design and deliver high-impact features. You will drive key initiatives across Scheduling, Pricing, and other strategic capabilities, helping transform Yelp into a seamless, booking-first marketplace.

You'll directly impact Yelp’s success while sharing your passion for cross-functional collaboration, coaching, and mentorship.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a team of engineers focused on building impactful features and functionalities to drive successful outcomes for Services Pros.
  • Coach and mentor engineers of all experience levels, from early career to senior engineers, fostering their professional development and career growth.
  • Work closely with your product-, design-, data science-, and marketing partners to build and execute long-term roadmaps.
  • Ensure high quality project management and engineering standards and practices for the team.
  • Participate in discussions surrounding future applications and/or systems regarding their appropriateness of solution.
  • Participate in the hiring process; identifying potential candidates, conducting interviews, and closing new hires to build a strong and diverse team.
  • Foster and build a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp’s values.

What it takes to succeed:

  • Previous experience as a manager with excellent people management skills.
  • A solid technical background to shape the team’s technical direction and roadmap.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams working closely with product-, design-, data science- and biz ops functions.
  • Product-driven approach that focuses on solving user needs with seamless user experience.
  • Experience balancing short-term business priorities with long-term technical quality through sound judgment.

What you'll get:

The top end of the compensation range for this role exceeds $200,000 annually. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data and years of experience. The actual compensation offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience and skill set.

You may also be offered restricted stock units and benefits.
