Yelp is searching for a Leave of Absence Coordinator to join our dynamic Global Benefits and Leaves team. This role reports to the Director of Global Benefits. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day administrative duties for employees needing a leave of absence or disability claim.

As the Leaves of Absence Coordinator, you will serve as a key member of the Total Rewards team and collaborate regularly with internal stakeholders, including our Payroll, Legal, and broader People Operations team. You will directly support and engage with Yelp’s employees across Europe and North America.

This is a full-time position located in Mexico.


What you'll do:

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks associated with employee Leaves of Absence and Disability Claims primarily in the U.S., but will also assist as needed for other countries where Yelp has employees (Canada, UK, Germany, Ireland, Belgium).
  • Send regular communications to employees going on leaves of absence, during their leave and when returning from leave so they understand the process, how to apply, deadlines for approvals and other recurring communications and reminders.
  • Answer basic employee questions regarding leave of absence, disability claims and accommodations.
  • Assist employees and managers on the appropriate policies and processes regarding leaves in all countries where Yelp has employees.
  • Update employee records in Workday as appropriate.
  • Inform and provide employees with paperwork and deadlines needed to consider requests for a leave of absence.
  • Coordinates all aspects of return to work for employees on leave.
  • Escalate issues to the proper resource as appropriate.
  • Perform regular audits of leave data in third party administrator system and Workday to ensure accurate and consistent information in both systems.
  • Other special projects and duties based on business needs.

What it takes to succeed:

  • 1+ years of related experience in U.S. FMLA, U.S. State Leaves, Disability Claims, ADA and absence management.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Experience with Jira or other service management ticketing system a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, tracking and follow up skills and ability to show empathy and desire to help employees.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills to reflect a friendly, positive disposition. Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills (Vlookups, data manipulation, conditional formatting, pivot tables, etc).
  • Excellent self-management, organizational, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail when completing all tasks.
  • Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • A great team player: maintains optimism and professionalism through tough challenges.
  • Ability to effectively work with and across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
