Job Description

At World View we are looking to add aWarehouse Manager to lead our inventory and kitting activities. You will responsible for the management of inventory, the warehouse shipping and receiving activities, the kitting of parts for Production, the creation of purchase requisitions as needed, and management of the Warehouse team. You will play a key role in supporting our efforts as we expand our Remote Sensing and Space Tourism initiatives. Work is typically performed in a warehouse setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position.

Role Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the department by effectively leading and taking responsibility for the performance of the Warehouse Technicians
  • Develop a strong team environment, including pre-shift meetings, strong floor presence and excellent follow-up
  • Understands, implements, and carries out all policies, procedures and standards, including but not limited to Company, Quality Management Systems, and OSHA
  • Maintain a tidy and clean warehouse
  • Continuously evaluate department workflow, layout, material handling, storage, and equipment, providing recommendations for enhancements as identified
  • Define goals and KPIs related to the Warehouse team and activities for operational excellence
  • Proactively provide management with forecasts and reports, including updates on critical Procurement issues
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all products received, stored, and processed to customers and/or back to vendors (RMA)
  • Process in a timely and accurate manner all data entry into ERP/MRP system
  • Perform routine quality controls and preventative measures as needed
  • Process in a timely and accurate manner any freight claims
  • Ensure Safety guidelines and best practices are continuously reviewed, monitored, and executed
  • Build Kits of parts for Production per production schedule needs
  • Provide Management, Production, and IPTs (Integrated Product Teams) with weekly updates on Kits status and any identified shortages
  • Initiate Purchase Requisitions as needed to fulfill needs for Kits, Min/Max, Kanban, etc
  • Work closely and daily with Procurement to ensure actual needs and kitting requirements (quantities and lead-times) are satisfied in due time
  • Work closely with the Procurement to ensure replenishment needs (e.g. kanban, min/max, etc.) are satisfied in due time
  • Support procurement as needed to resolve any shipment discrepancies and backorders
  • Work closely with Procurement to update lead-times when they change
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure alignment between accounting and actual inventory
  • Accountable for cycle counting and yearly physical inventory audits
  • Work closely with Quality to ensure incoming products meet specifications and timely flow of parts between Receiving and QC (Quality Control)
  • All other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years experience in a distributed warehouse environment
  • 2+ years experience managing a team
  • 5+ years Aerospace/ Defense Supply Chain experience
  • Proficient knowledge of computerized Warehouse Management System and processes, paperless processing technologies experience is desirable (to support future implementation)
  • Hands-on distribution experience including shipping, receiving and inventory control
  • Extensive knowledge in Office 365 and D365
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and great interpersonal skills
  • Must be detailed oriented, strive for perfection, have strong attention to details, personal drive, and initiative
  • Flexible to changes in business activities, able to adapt quickly and redirect efforts/resources
  • Experience managing work through Quality Management Systems procedures
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if required
  • Warehouse / Industrial Environment, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Forklift driver certified would be a bonus
