We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and experienced Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect to join Wherobots’ dynamic team in building the Spatial Intelligence Cloud, the data and AI platform for the physical world. The Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect plays a crucial role in the success of our company by providing technical expertise and support to our clients during both the pre-sales and post-sales phases. You will be responsible for understanding the technical needs of customers, demonstrating how our products or services meet those needs, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to identify key business challenges across verticals and design compelling, scalable geospatial data solutions leveraging the Wherobots platform.

  • Own technical discovery sessions to deeply understand customer workflows, data infrastructure, and AI/analytics needs—translating those into actionable architectures and demonstrations.

  • Design and present high-quality architecture diagrams, integration flows, and solution blueprints tailored to customer requirements.

  • Deliver impactful product demonstrations, tailored proof-of-concepts, and performance benchmarks to showcase the value and differentiation of Wherobots in customer environments.

  • Create and maintain reusable field enablement assets, including reference architectures, decision matrices, implementation guides, and best practice playbooks.

  • Act as a technical thought partner in strategic account planning, opportunity qualification, and deal structuring, aligned with value-based outcomes.

  • Engage with industry-specific data, toolchains, and partner technologies to integrate Wherobots into complex enterprise ecosystems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Google Earth Engine).

Post-Sales Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural onboarding sessions with new customers, ensuring long-term success and a seamless transition from sales to production.

  • Collaborate with customer engineering and analytics teams to design optimal data pipelines, model inference workflows, and scalable storage/query strategies on Wherobots.

  • Support customers in deploying best practices for geospatial data lifecycle management (ingestion, enrichment, inference, visualization, governance).

  • Troubleshoot advanced technical issues, serving as an escalation point and collaborating with product and support engineering teams for resolution.

  • Collect customer feedback to inform roadmap prioritization and influence the evolution of Wherobots platform capabilities and APIs.

Architecture and Solution Design Deliverables

  • Develop technical collateral for internal and external use, including:

    • Solution architecture templates

    • Integration patterns and connector documentation

    • Cloud deployment diagrams (e.g., VPC reference architectures, security/compliance overlays)

  • Maintain a library of industry-specific use cases and workload examples (e.g., mobility data pipelines, satellite image inference, retail site selection, disaster response).

Public-Facing Content & Community Engagement

  • Author high-quality, shareable technical content, including:

    • Jupyter notebooks demonstrating geospatial workflows, ML inference, and spatial joins at scale

    • Blog posts showcasing innovative use cases, performance gains, and technical how-tos

    • Co-branded customer success stories and solution spotlight pages for the Wherobots website

  • Contribute to technical documentation, tutorials, and GitHub repos used by open-source and enterprise users of Apache Sedona and Wherobots.

  • Represent Wherobots at technical events, webinars, and meetups—serving as a credible evangelist of our platform to developers, data scientists, and enterprise architects.

  • Engage in online communities (Apache Sedona Discord, GitHub, LinkedIn, and other forums) to support users and share expertise in spatial data engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Geography related field or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a pre-sales and post-sales technical support role.

  • Strong understanding of complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong skills in databases, data warehouses, and data processing.

  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Customer-focused with a commitment to client satisfaction.

  • Fosters a collaborative and supportive team dynamic

  • Experience and or familiarity with spatial data and spatial data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers; includes proven skills in identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions and compelling events.

  • Data Science/AI experience across a variety of platforms and industries

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with large-scale database technology

  • Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g. Microstrategy, Business Objects, Tableau, etc).

  • Proven success at enterprise software start-ups
