Waymo’s Program Managers are accountable for Waymo’s roadmap execution by providing thoughtful cross-functional planning, clarity, and proactive risk management. In the face of complex technical and operational challenges with no established playbooks to follow, we act with thoughtful urgency, driving conversations, discussions, and outcomes. Our team partners closely with every function of Waymo to structure, own and drive work towards real-world deployments of the Waymo Driver across platforms and geographies.
In this hybrid role, you will report to a Director, Technical Program Management.
You will:
- Lead strategic cross-functional programs within the regulatory reporting space
- Drive scoping and timelines for new and existing reporting obligations, working with Legal and Compliance to understand requirements, and engaging cross-functional stakeholders to meet requirements
- Own the curation, transformation, and review of the data itself, using a deep understanding of business and regulatory domains to spot-check for accuracy and precision
- Dive deep technically to identify and resolve data scope issues or inconsistencies, resolve misalignments, and remove obstacles towards execution
- Drive automation and process improvements, working with Product, Data Science, Legal, Safety, Operations, etc to create scalable and consistent reporting workflows
- Deeply understand regulatory reporting requirements across ride hailing functions
You have:
- 5+ years of experience managing highly complex cross-functional programs
- Experience building reporting programs that are highly cross-functional (e.g., multiple data sources, unique data-related policy challenges, diverse regulators with differing needs).
- Strong leadership skills, and clear verbal and written communication, alongside the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive decision-making
- Significant expertise in scaling processes within complex, growing areas
We prefer:
- Working knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements across ride hailing, autonomous vehicle, or related highly-regulated industries
- Experience working with large datasets in a data specialist capacity
- Experience with road safety, design, or transportation planning or related
- Expertise in formal program management in related industries
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
