Waymo's cars may be self-driving, but its security program is steered by experts like you. Safety is our foundation and is at the heart of everything we do. As Waymo's Head of Security Operations & Technology you will be responsible for development, evaluation and deployment of physical security process and technology stack for Waymo, including both planning and leading across a wide range of physical security optimization projects in an extremely fast paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity. At every turn, process excellence, collaboration, and detailed cross-org communications are critical.
You will manage this program and implement strategic improvements while assuring alignment and compliance with security policies and requirements.
You will
- Build our physical security program to meet scaling business needs, including regional security plans/programs, supervision and execution of site-specific security operations and manage other vendor staff to respond to incidents.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of integrated physical security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and perimeter intrusion detection systems.
- Support development of guidelines and SOPs for 3rd party vendor procedures and standards, constantly iterating for optimization on a quarterly basis.
- Be an ambassador for Waymo and its capabilities at a regional level, helping connect Waymonauts to resources, assistance, and solutions offered by Waymo Physical Security. Partner with stakeholders and Waymo business units to identify security deficiencies and develop customized policies and procedures to gain compliance with regulations.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and evaluate associated risks within proposed or existing Waymo territories, cities, neighborhoods, and Workplace facilities. Use data analysis and benchmarking to support this risk determination.
- Perform risk assessments, threat identification, and investigations; create investigative standards, processes, and procedures for Waymo Physical Security.
- Travel up to 25% as needed to meet business objectives
You have
- 10+ years of experience managing enterprise ready physical security systems (Genetec & CCure), risk management, access management and/or investigations for diverse workplace environments including fleet operations, industrial operations and multi-market commercial office/ lab of a portfolio of at least 2 million sq. ft.
- Experience in third-party security and resilience risk management as well as third-party operational readiness and business continuity; conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and operational security design/planning.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and leveraging data and metrics to measure the effectiveness, performance, and return on investment.
- Advanced data analytics and storytelling skills to effectively present risk assessment, threat identification, and security outcomes to cross-functional stakeholders
- Programmatic execution, managing physical security process improvements by setting priorities, measurable objectives, cross-functional dependencies, planning, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting and subsequently monitoring and measuring outcomes.
We prefer:
- A track record of program implementation and proven objective analysis within highly matrixed organizations in an atmosphere where speed, flexibility and frugality are the norm
- Automotive fleet operations management and/or rideshare sector interest, if not experience
- Experience leading detailed investigations, ideally with ability to define investigation standards and processes
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
