In this role will report to a Senior Staff Software Engineer/TLM.
You will:
- Lead an Infrastructure team that builds and maintains reliable, highly-scalable, and cost-effective production services to run Simulation-based Evaluation of the Waymo Driver
- Set the technical vision and direction for your team, and also influence the direction of the broader Infrastructure Organization.
- Manage a team of 3-4 junior and senior SWEs,
- Contribute production grade code, execute code reviews, drive and influence detailed technical designs
- Align and define plans for your team in addition to influencing planning and strategy of partners and the larger Organization
You have:
- Hands-on experience building large-scale distributed systems
- Proficient in C++, or a desire or openness to learn C++
- 2+ years directly managing Software Engineers
- Demonstrated experience working cross functionally with Product, Program, Data Science, etc.
- History of data-driven decision-making
It's a bonus if you have:
- Experience working with different types of large scale systems
- Familiarity with Google infrastructure (e.g. Flume, Borg)
- 10+ years experience in software development
