Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction.
In this hybrid role, you will report to an Engineering Manager
You will:
- Create functional test specification and requirements for electronic modules and hardware used in Autonomous Vehicle
- Design, develop and maintain HW/SW of test stations for PCBA and module level testing
- Provide technical leadership to our manufacturing partners and test equipment vendors to bring up, troubleshoot and maintain production testers and tester fixtures
- Conduct PCBA and photonic module failure analysis for production fallouts
- Develop product troubleshooting and rework procedure
You have:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or relevant disciplines
- 1+ years of experience in digital and analog circuit design/analysis, PCBA bring-up, testing and troubleshooting
- Strong hands-on EE lab skills and enthusiasm in solving real world production problems
- Experience in Python software development
- Good communication skills in English
We prefer:
- Strong experience in Linux networking and network infrastructure
- Experience in managing contract manufacturers,, particularly in Asia, and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time
- Strong experience in Python software development
