On the Waymo Marketing team, you will connect people with the magic of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Our team has the unique opportunity to build societal acceptance for autonomous driving technology for the first time in history. We build thoughtful marketing strategy, positioning, and creative to convey messages that matter to our audience, communicated through touch points ranging from video to social media to immersive physical experiences. We shape go-to-market plans and are solidifying Waymo as a successful consumer brand.
This is a hybrid role based in the Bay Area.
In this role you'll:
- Set the strategy and daily content for all of Waymo's social media channels including creative concepting, copywriting, visual assets, and production
- Partner with other teams to ensure our social channels represent authentic and comprehensive stories about our brand, technology, safety record, employees, and values
- Lead online community management including social media monitoring, customer advocacy, alerts, and (in partnership with PR) crisis response
- No direct reports at this time however you'll manage agencies and contractors
- Ensure social savviness balanced with the tonal nuances of our high stakes industry
- Partner with influencers and content creators, helping them tell credible stories
At a minimum, we'd like you to have:
- 10+ years of experience as social media manager/lead, in-house or at an agency
- High proficiency with X, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube platforms
- Fresh POV on social media trends
- Eye for tone and voice; a great writer
- Portfolio that showcases a range of impactful social media content
- Visionary POV and also happy to be an independent contributor
It's preferred you:
- Have experience in consumer products, technology, or entertainment brands
- Are comfortable solving problems that haven't been answered before
- Work well across diverse teams both internally and externally
- Are a strong project manager

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
