In this role you'll:
- Conduct investigations involving allegations of policy and/or employment legal violations, working to ensure that issues are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved.
- Use data to identify and analyze employee relations trends and make recommendations to address ER trends and root causes.
- Provide expert advice and counsel to managers and HR Business Partners to ensure correct application and integration of policies on issues with particular risk.
- Help draft new policies, tools, templates and processes for PR, the People team and Waymo in support of our goals and values.
- Drive projects and deliver innovative solutions as needed across the Waymo People team and partner with various functions within the People team to execute Waymo People strategies.
- Help build the People Relations function and develop guiding principles and philosophies to support Waymo values and culture
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- Seven or more years experience investigating complex employee relations issues, with more experience desired.
- Mastery of employment legal basics and employee relations best practices.
- Experience working on employee relations or employment law matters in both a startup and large company environment.
- Strong business orientation coupled with a genuine desire to promote a fair and positive work environment for all employees.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including high EQ, ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization, and collaborate with other teams.
- Able to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities independently and keep current with workload.
- Excellent writing skills and experience writing investigation reports.
- An eye toward innovation.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
