Viasat, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer in Carlsbad, CA.
Duties:
- Writing and reviewing code in different languages development environment.
- Creating deployment frameworks and pipelines for CI/CD managed systems.
- Utilizing agile methodologies including Kanban, SCRUM, XP, modern software development environments, and DevOps practices.
- Designing, documenting, and developing new APIs.
- Working on Ansible playbook-based software development.
- Maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the existing systems.
- Data analyzing and modeling using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
- Implementing AI bots.
100% Telecommuting permitted within the U.S.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and must have demonstrated proficiency in all of the following, which may be gained through any amount of work experience, internship(s), and/or academic coursework.
- Python and Bash;
- RESTful web services, JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), YAML (YAML Ain’t Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and JavaScript.
- Designing patterns and OO (Object Orienting) principles.
- Ansible, Salt or Chef.
- High level OO language including Java, Ruby, C++, Objective C, Scaa, or Go.
- Linux system management.

Salary range
$111,500.00 - $176,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $139,000.00- $208,000.00/ annually
