What you'll do

As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of a team that supports and optimizes core infrastructure hosted on-premises and the cloud! Your primary goal is to ensure the seamless functioning of technology infrastructure, managing both hardware and software resources to facilitate efficient business operations. You will drive process improvement initiatives, engage in project management, and ensure consistency with high standards of service delivery.


The day-to-day

We expect the day-to-day in this role to include the following:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and IT professionals, encouraging a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Operations Oversight: Manage day-to-day technical operations, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all technology platforms and services.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Technical Support: Offer high-level technical support and expertise across various systems, addressing issues and ensuring quick resolution.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding data security and privacy. Implement and maintain robust security protocols.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for operational processes and generate regular reports on team performance and operational metrics.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Management, or related subjects are preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability in IT operations or a similar technical role, with at least 2 years in a management position.
  • Strong multi-cloud technical expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP and OCI cloud services).
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
  • Background in a tech-focused company, with a focus on the telecommunications or networking realm.

What will help you on the job

  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and cloud computing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication abilities, able to convey technical ideas to non-technical customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and practices, such as ITIL.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Prior experience in migrating workloads from legacy platforms to the cloud.

Salary range

$127,000.00 - $200,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $157,500.00- $236,500.00/ annually
