What you'll do
As a subject matter expert on materials and related process, you will support various commercial and government projects. Those projects span environments from ground, to air, to space. You will assist engineers with material selection and testing. You will also be involved in failure analysis. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and assembly integration & test engineers.
The day-to-day
What’s the day-to-day like for this candidate?
- Provide engineering feedback and recommendations on new and revised designs and proposals.
- Participation in new designs and proposals: material recommendations, risk identification.
- Participation in failure analysis and material review boards.
What you'll need
- Knowledge of material selection for space environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of materials science and engineering principles.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary range
$169,000.00 - $267,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $210,000.00- $315,000.00/ annually
