What you'll do
Viasat is looking for a System Test Engineer to join our growing team. We have opportunities test system automation tool development, data analysis and reporting application tools, and system test engineering. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including systems eng, RF, digital/PL, mechanical, and test just to name a few. You will be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle: evaluation of requirements, trade studies, design, coding, unit test, integration, and maintenance. You will have the autonomy to complete your tasks but also have access to hard-working engineers and domain experts to help you succeed. Sound interesting? Keep reading!
The day-to-day
- Integration and Test of the Viasat networks
- Work with designers to gather Test requirements
- Develop Test Plans
- Develop Test software
- Trouble shoot and problem solving on Viasat Hardware
- Data Analysis of Test results

What you'll need
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering or a related field
- Basic experience with navigating and working with Linux command line
- Previous coding experience with and desire to learn Python
- Knowledge or experience with deployment tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Amazon Web Services
- Knowledge of wired and wireless communication networks
- Knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals

Salary range
$67,500.00 - $106,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $83,500.00- $125,500.00/ annually
