Vast is looking for a Sr. Technical Project Manager, reporting to the VP, Haven-2 Engineering, to lead our programmatic efforts as part of the Haven-2 design for the NASA Commercial LEO Destinations (CLD) proposal.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach, California location.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage your technical expertise and project management to drive overall Haven-2 design schedule across multiple engineering teams, including structures, thermal, mechanisms, power, avionics, and GNC
- Act as a single point of contact for driving scope, schedule, cost, and resource management
- Work closely with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure critical path blockers are identified and resolved
- Ensure program deliverables are complete, current, and available for program team and leadership review
- Act as owner for tracking and communicating program status and risk to stakeholders
- Establish standard reports to provide concise and effective communications to key stakeholders on program status, issues/risks, and accomplishments
- Apply first principles approach to solving tight timelines, design changes, and material management
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 5 years of experience in technical project/program management
- 2 years of experience with project management and reporting tools (i.e., MS Project, SmartSheet, JIRA, Confluence)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Track record of successfully designing and launching space flight hardware or other similar hardware/software devices from concept to production
- Experience managing design releases, validation test plans, build execution and supply chain management
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Pay Range:
- Senior Technical Project Manager L3: $150,000-$180,000
