Vast is looking for a Facilities Assistant, reporting to the Facilities Manager, Mojave Test Site, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations and the E-2 LOX/Kerosene oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine. This will be a full-time, hourly position located at our Mojave Test Site location.
Responsibilities:
- Support surge fabrication work with our propulsion and electrical technicians building up tubing or wire harnesses.
- Break room and bathroom daily cleaning
- Yard cleanup and organization
- Track all work in the Facilities CMMS system
- Order and stock; food, snacks, and drinks in the break rooms
- Perform weekly inspections on all facilities equipment
- Assist with guard duties during hazardous operations
- Routine maintenance inspections
- Organize and maintain facilities materials stock
- Fill in for inventory or shipping and receiving as needed
- Support daily operational and maintenance needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- CA drivers license
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Janitorial skills
- Landscaping skills
- Mechanical skills
- Previous experience in extreme weather conditions both hot and cold
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Able to work in extreme temperatures, ranging from 20F to 120F, outdoors
