Join our Technical Support team, where we bridge the gap between complex satellite imagery and real-world solutions. As a Technical Support Engineer (m/f/x), you will be at the heart of a unique marketplace, collaborating with global satellite data providers to help customers unlock the full potential of Earth Observation data. Your mission will be to provide exceptional technical support to our customers, tackling challenging issues and developing technical solutions. The key to success is being able to quickly gain an understanding of the UP42 platform, APIs and services. This role is perfect for a proactive problem-solver who wants to make a tangible impact by helping global customers unlock the full potential of Earth Observation data.

What you will do:

  • Provide timely and effective technical support by taking full ownership of complex customer issues and driving them to resolution.

  • Utilize your expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing to offer deep insights and technical guidance to our global customer base.

  • Develop and deliver technical solutions to intricate customer problems, making use of your expertise in Python, API’s, GIS, and Remote Sensing.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Product teams to ensure critical customer challenges are prioritized and resolved.

  • Conduct high-impact product demonstrations and lead customer onboarding to highlight the platform’s unique capabilities.

  • Drive internal initiatives to implement best practices in customer support and improve internal processes.

  • Represent the company at international industry conferences, building a valuable network of providers and expert users.

Job requirements

Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:

  • Ability to explain technical details and requirements to both a technical and non-technical audiences, making complex concepts easy to understand

  • Background in the GIS and Remote Sensing industry with a solid understanding of geospatial datasets

  • Previous experience in a similar customer-facing role in technical support or technical consulting capacity

  • Strong proficiency in Python scripting and hands-on application or script development experience

  • Experience working with APIs and integrating them into technical solutions

  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to technical challenges

  • High technical agility and the ability to master new tools and documentation independently

  • Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships within the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Bonus points if you bring:

  • Passion for the satellite imagery industry and space technology

  • Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and workflows

  • German language skills
