About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled payments professional to join our Payments Business Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying global payment partnership opportunities, shaping our global strategic payment partnership strategy, and managing the commercial aspects of our relationships with global payment processors and banking partners to drive benefits across the Uber ecosystem.
The Payments and Financial Products Business Development team operates within Uber’s Global Business Organisation, which oversees all partnerships across Ridesharing, Delivery, Payments, Corp Development, and other Strategic Initiatives. This position will be pivotal in driving the company's key financial and operational goals.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Manager, Business Development - Payments, you will:
- Lead and negotiate commercial relationships with global banks and payment processors.
- Identify and assess new opportunities in payments and financial services, as well as across the business, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to inform business decisions.
- Develop financial models to illustrate potential business impact and inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Operations, Product, Strategy & Planning, and Finance teams to help refine and critical negotiations and deals that align with Uber’s payments strategy.
- Innovate and explore new ways for partnerships to drive business growth, enhance payment experiences, and improve Uber’s financial performance in any relevant area.
- Engage with senior external stakeholders, including C-level executives at many of the largest payments companies, to strengthen partnerships, drive complex negotiations, and co-create the future of payments.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or partner management in payments at a technology company, payments firm, or bank.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience in Fintech or Payments at a Merchant or Payments company.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Deep expertise in payments, financial services, financial products, payment acceptance, disbursements, risk, identity, wallets, card networks, and compliance.
- Proven ability to drive high-value commercial negotiations.
- Strong financial modeling skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience managing C-level relationships at partner companies.
- Ability to integrate business, strategy, finance, and legal considerations to execute complex deals.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$209,000 per year - USD$232,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$209,000 per year - USD$232,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
