As a Senior Product Manager within the Cards processing within the Uber Payments Methods & Processing pillar, you'll be responsible for shaping how we increase conversion, improve experiences and reduce costs for over $150B of card payments made by 200M+ users to pay for 8B+ trips and orders per year, We do this while ensuring we are compliant in every country we operate in and have resilient and scalable platforms in place to support Uber’s growth.

As a Senior Product Manager within the Payment Methods & Processing pillar, you will work with your cross functional partners in service of our mission “ To enable Uber’s users to safely pay and get paid in their preferred way, powered by efficient, cost effective, and reliable payment processing capabilities”
This PM drives and executes on the vision and strategy within the Cards domain which builds and maintains the rails used to process $150B+ of cards payments per year from millions of users in 75+ countries. This strategy includes increasing conversion, reducing costs and supporting growth of the business. The PM also owns the roadmap of building scalable platforms, enhancing payments reliability & improving processing efficiency.
In practice this would entail the following:
- Internalize and deeply understand Uber's mission and strategies, as well as the mission and objectives of your specific team
- Understand the needs of our users, potential users as well as various lines of business to define and drive product initiatives for your product area
- Drive the cross-functional teams to collaborate effectively and funnel that energy into concrete products and execution plans
- Monitor and measure launched products and feed insights back into the product development process
- Clearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences, including internal partners and cross functional teams
- Understand our data and uncover ways to iterate on effectiveness, usage, and quality
- Build a plan to grow & scale the existing product through high-velocity experimentation
- Work closely with engineering, design, data science, and lines of businesses to determine what features to build next
---- Basic Qualifications ----
7+ yrs of experience delivering highly successful products
- Ability to distill insights from users, the market, and other teams into a concise problem statement
- Strong opinions about how things should be, with openness to input feedback
- Data-driven: you always get the data you need, and you can distill it into an insightful story. Most importantly, you maximize data to drive strategic decisions
- Technical skills: Ability to inform and evaluate engineering decisions
- User-focused: You are passionate about always making the user experience positive and unwilling to allow product challenges to impact users negatively
- A desire to grow and learn
- Ability to unify broad and diverse sets of stakeholders around a shared vision, while keeping them included in ongoing trade-offs.
- Great presentation and business communication skills
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Understanding of how payments processing works across external partners (gateways, PSPs, networks, issuers, etc.)
- Knowledge of and experience with optimizing payment success and costs and the various factors that influence this
- Experience with 3D Secure payments and how merchants can optimize success rates while reducing fraud and liability
- Experience in building consumer/marketplace products
