About the Role

Uber Eats is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Director of Product, Offers & Affordability to lead the financial engine of our delivery business.

In this role, you will own the strategy and execution for a portfolio responsible for $6B+ in annual offers redemption and hundreds of millions in profit contribution. You will solve one of the hardest problems in delivery: How do we make food and retail delivery affordable for the everyday consumer while ensuring sustainable economics for our restaurant and merchant partners?

This isn't a role for someone who wants a polished playbook; it’s for a leader who can turn complexity into clarity at speed, navigate the often messy trade-offs of a three-sided marketplace, and lead through influence rather than control. You will build the tools that allow a local pizzeria or a global grocery chain to fund promotions effectively, and the consumer-facing experiences that help millions of people find their next meal at a price that works for them.

What You’ll Do

  • Steward a Massive P&L: Own the product roadmap for the Eats Offers platform, maximizing order volume through $6B+ in redemptions while rigorously optimizing for incremental profit contribution and unit economics.
  • Lead & Scale the Team: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of ~10 Product Managers, helping them navigate high-pressure trade-offs between growth, margin, and user experience.
  • Revolutionize the Merchant Experience: Build self-serve growth tools that empower everyone from local pizzerias to global grocers to launch campaigns (BOGOs, "Spend $X Save $Y"), and prove ROI to merchants, ensuring they understand that every dollar they invest in offers drives incremental orders and loyal customers.
  • Elevate the Eater Experience: Design intuitive, personalized discovery experiences that surface the right deal to the right eater, and reduce " sticker shock" at checkout by intelligently applying affordability mechanics that increase conversion and retention.
  • Navigate Global Complexity: Work seamlessly across Latin America, EMEA, APAC, and North America, adapting product strategy to fit diverse market realities like high-frequency behavior in Taiwan vs. high-AOV family ordering in the US.
  • Bridge the Digital and Real Worlds: Collaborate across engineering, data science, and local operations to ship practical solutions that work in the real world, often under tight constraints and shifting priorities.
  • Drive Technical Depth: Partner with highly technical teams to answer complex questions about elasticity, cannibalization, and incrementality using large-scale datasets.

What You’ll Need

  • Quantitative Foundation: Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Product Leadership: 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to hiring and leading high-performing product teams.
  • Scale & Responsibility: Proven experience managing high-scale consumer-facing mobile app products and/or B2B merchant tools.

Bonus Points If

  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of delivery or retail unit economics, including basket sizes, service fees, and merchant margins.
  • Marketplace Mindset: Experience designing for both sides of a marketplace—from friction-free consumer "Claim" buttons to complex B2B merchant dashboards.
  • Operational Grit: Proven ability to partner with international operations teams and build global platforms that allow local General Managers to pull the right levers for their markets.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to use large datasets to solve for long-term sustainability while maintaining high execution velocity.

Perks

  • The rare opportunity to change the world such that everyone around you is using the product you built. We’re not just another social web app, we’re moving real people and assets and reinventing transportation and logistics globally.
  • Sharp, motivated co-workers in a fun office environment.
