About the Role
The mission of the Merchant team is to help merchants realize their full potential on Uber Eats, from onboarding to building a success business. As a Scientist on this team, you will own complex projects from end-to-end, including understanding product performance, running marketplace experiments, building models, and driving tradeoff decisions using data.
What You'll Do
- Generate product insights through analysis to influence decisions and what / how the team builds.
- Design and analyze experiments to help the team learn, ship, and measure impact.
- Lead product measurement for the team, including metrics design, implementation, and goal setting.
- Scale data visibility and access through dashboards or other tools.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent role (3+ if holding a Ph.D.)
- Expertise in experimental design and statistical analysis for A/B testing and causal inference.
- Proficiency in R or Python for exploratory data analysis and modeling.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience extracting user behavior insights from large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib).
Preferred Qualifications
- Marketplace experimentation experience within a Delivery or Ecommerce business.
- 6+ years of industry experience.
- Proficiency in causal inference.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$216,000 per year - USD$240,000 per year.
