About the Role
The Uber Eats Merchant team helps restaurants build successful online food businesses through the power of Uber's network and marketplace. As a member of the Science team, you will use data to understand how we can build better products and have an impact on over 1.5 million restaurants.
What You'll Do
- Use data to uncover insights about our product and business. Apply models and statistics where appropriate to increase the rigor of our insights.
- Design and run experiments to test hypotheses and ship impactful features to the marketplace.
- Synthesize and present information to influence non-technical partners and the product roadmap.
- Measure the team's progress through metrics design and goal-setting.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent (2+ years if holding a Ph.D.)
- R or Python coding and ability to develop statistical analysis and algorithm prototyping.
- Design experiments, interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions.
- Solid theoretical and applied causal inference skills, experience applying them in a practical industry setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Marketplace or consumer technology experience.
- Modeling and causal inference.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year.
