About the Role
We are seeking a Reporting Associate to join and become a major contributor to our Global Reporting Team. A successful candidate in this position will have demonstrable experience with financial reporting and compliance related responsibilities.
The Reporting Associate will be working cross-functionally and have regular interaction with key business partners, mainly in support of Uber entities across EMEA / APAC including payment regulated entities (e.g. 'PSD2’ entities). The candidate will routinely collaborate closely with a number of stakeholders at all levels of the organization internationally to actively contribute to global projects with Uber Payments in a matrix environment, and accomplish unusually complex goals.
The candidate will also drive process and internal control enhancements to ensure practices are in place to achieve highest standards in the preparation of the monthly reporting, the statutory financial reporting and audit. The candidate will also perform activities that include (but are not limited to) review of monthly and quarterly tax returns and perform other ad-hoc activities. The candidate should have strong project management skills as the candidate will drive cross-border projects and develop best practice in processes on an international level. The candidate should be a strong team player who is able to work with people across the organization. The role will be based in Gurgaon, India and will report to the Manager / Senior Manager, Reporting.
What You'll Do
- Lead and develop the regulatory financial reporting process for the Payments activity and business in scope, in close interaction with other relevant stakeholders. Work closely with our compliance team to ensure regulated requirements are communicated and understood.
- Coordinating and collaborating with other internal control functions in risk management and integration projects that add value to the business and improve effective oversight of key risks
- Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and frameworks
- Drives continuous improvement, standardization, reengineering of processes and controls and implementation of best practices.
- Drafting and/or reviewing of policies, procedures and other accounting documents, as necessary
- A strong team player, operates globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.
- Ensure that the statutory accounting and external filings process for the legal entity meets the highest quality standards in cooperation with teams in accounting, tax and legal , internal audit, external partners and others as required including continuous compliance with group and local requirements.
- Works independently to research and resolve individual inquiries related to such requests liaising with accounting and tax as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA/CA/ACCA/equivalent qualification preferred
- 4+ years professional experience with an emphasis on auditing, accounting, overall financial statements analysis and regulatory reporting, preferably partly gained within one of the 'Big-four'.
- Team player, have ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges
- Experience of working in a global set up with collaboration across geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders.
- Proactive, process- and results-driven, able to set priorities right and committed to deadlines.
- Comfortable in managing through ambiguous situations, self-driven, and works well independently or with a group.
- Experience in working for a NL DNB regulated company or similar in other jurisdictions would be a plus.
- Excellent project management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask
- Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred
