About The Role

Uber is home to one of the largest and most unique insurance programs in the world and insurance data lies at its foundation. We're looking for an experienced actuarial analyst to manage our critical insurance data infrastructure. This will involve everything from designing new data models and improving existing data processes to expanding the scope of the data program to support Uber's ever-growing portfolio ! This team works cross functionally to ensure that our data processes are aligned with industry best practices and partner needs.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including actuaries, program managers, data scientists and software engineers to identify challenges and opportunities for insurance data models
  • Create robust data models to unlock new analytical opportunities
  • Design comprehensive quality checks to facilitate accurate analyses and to ensure Uber's insurance data meets compliance standards
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build and improve on the availability, integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data logging and data pipelines.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years actuarial experience, preferably in a data-focused role
  • Completion of 4+ P&C actuarial exams, with commitment to continuing to take exams
  • Advanced SQL expertise

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields
  • Proficiency in a scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Experience with Excel and some dashboarding/data visualization
  • A passion for data quality
  • Excellent judgment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with swift execution
