About The Role

Our Operations teams work where Uber’s digital technology meets the real world. We are the local eyes on Uber’s operations team, and own city-specific business outcomes and bridge our overall business strategy with local needs. We ensure sophisticated, business-critical compliance work is done in a high-quality way and champion the core Uber experience in our cities.

We are looking for an individual who has strong operational and analytical skills, as well as strategic business sense. In this role, you will coordinate our Mexican operations and be a teammate in developing initiatives to drive growth and operational efficiencies. This is a key position that can make a significant impact on business and change the way people move in our countries. We are currently operating in 70+ cities with more than 10 different products, and we have a lot of exciting projects going on! This role calls for a combination of analytics and ability to operationalize processes in a fast paced environment.

What The Candidate Will Do

  • Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead, and implement strategy to achieve business priorities in Mexico.
  • Business Sense: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to help figure out strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business
  • Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend best approach
  • Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across Mexico and beyond, regularly reviewing performance
  • Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact and, collaborate with Product teams around the world to implement launches in Mexico
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test, and implement initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • Years of Experience/Industries: Three or more years of professional experience
  • SQL Knowledge
  • Data-Driven Mentality: Make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture
  • Communication: Spanish and English proficiency. Able to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet concise manner
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreements
  • Executional Excellence: Ability to work and accomplish multiple tasks in parallel, delivering results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment while maintaining high-quality work standards
  • Planning & Organization: Ability to create detailed project plans with project stages, milestones, basic interdependencies, and owners
