About The TeamThe Corporate Legal team is made up of a talented group of legal professionals who partner with our business in the areas of payments, M&A, finance, corporate and commercial transactions, corporate governance, capital markets, and related matters. About The RoleWe are currently searching for Senior Legal Counsel based in Cairo, Egypt, to support the Egypt business. You will lead the provision of legal support to Uber’s core operations, functional teams, and specialist legal functions from a legal perspective, and will have expertise in commercial, litigation, and regulatory law. You will work together within a dynamic legal team to help support the dynamic growth of the business across the region, reporting directly to the MEA Legal Director. Your Impact In Role
  • Provide strategic, pragmatic, and proactive legal guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory, compliance, litigation, policy, and commercial matters, as well as other business matters.
  • Effectively oversee external counsel and budgets to meet objectives.
  • Negotiate commercial contracts, handle litigation, and act as a business collaborator with operational teams.
  • Comprehend, interpret, and execute regulations that are applicable to Uber's business model.
The Experience You’ll Bring
  • Qualification/registration to practice law in Egypt.
  • 9+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience at a top-tier firm and/or in-house with general corporate/commercial and litigation experience.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent business judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience working with business leaders.
  • Confidence in operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to perform in nimble, rapidly changing, and growing markets.
