About The RoleThe Head of the Strategy & Planning for Postmates will define strategic priorities for the Postmates business in partnership with the Postmates GM, and within the broader Uber Delivery organization.As the leader and core member of the Postmates leadership team, you will drive the strategy for the next phase of Postmates in the US, uniquely positioned within Uber to be a complementary challenger brand. You will carefully consider the growth and profitability of the business, the broader competitive landscape, and the different needs across markets. You will be instrumental in helping the Postmates and US&C Delivery Operations leadership teams have a clear cross-business view, understanding how the business is growing and evolving as well as implications for our Uber Eats ecosystem.This role requires equal parts business acumen, analytical skills, the ability to set vision (both to seek consensus and set direction for others), plus the humility to lead and mentor others. • Own and maintain metrics dashboards and reporting cadences, ensuring key leaders always have the right information in front of them to foster data-driven decisions
• Conduct data analyses, diagnostics, and deep-dives to identify areas of improvement and new opportunities for the business and be proactive about surfacing insights with clear recommendations
• Collaborate cross functionally to identify the best investment opportunities and trade-offs; identify and drive opportunities for user growth, improved competitive positioning, and cost efficiency
• Lead bi-annual business planning, crafting appropriate OKRs with key functions that roll up into compelling headline goals
• Interface beyond the core Postmates team with other teams and functional areas (UE Strategic Operations and Strategy & Planning, Marketing [Brand, CRM, Performance], Business Development, People Operations, Legal, etc.) as well as product to ensure Postmates is getting the support it needs from the broader Delivery organization
• Over-communicate consistently in order to make sure our strategy and the steps we’re taking to get there are well understood and appropriately resourced
• Be truth-seeking and comfortable with data; set high standards for the team to think ambitiously and creatively, and then funnel that energy into clear goals and strong execution

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of management consulting or related experience, or demonstrated ability to drive end-to-end projects from ideation to implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of proven experience preferred
• Minimum 4+ years in a people management position with strong leadership skills and experience coaching and mentoring a diverse team
• Outstanding Excel and data management skills; SQL proficiency preferred
• Demonstrated experience in managing sophisticated stakeholder structure with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong communication, presentation and organization skills ability to reduce complex and complicated information into clear recommendations to senior leadership
• Track record of driving strategic insights and tying strategy work to specific business goals; experience with competitive strategy a plus
• Data-driven decision mentality, sound business judgment, and strong analytical thinking

For Los Angeles, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $162,000 per year - $180,000 per year.For Miami, FL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $162,000 per year - $180,000 per year.For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
