About The RoleThe Central Ops team, in collaboration with the Regional teams, leads our vision, strategy, execution and tactics for our Operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Operations is all about running our business on the ground and helping our drivers and driver partners get the most out of Uber’s platform.In the Marketplace team, you will be responsible for analysing vast amounts of data across different data sources to drive actionable insights for EMEA business growth and improve the experience for both riders and drivers. We are looking for an exceptional problem solver with a good understanding of the ridesharing business. The ideal candidate has a good track record of understanding underlying causes of complex problems and proposing solutions based on data. This role's focus is on Pricing & Fares, which means that you will be recommending pricing strategies to optimise the performance of EMEA markets. You will develop a deep understanding of how Uber's pricing technology and configurations work and will be a thought partner for EMEA subregions on all pricing-related topics.What the Candidate Will Do
- Support EMEA markets in implementing more complex configurations
- Scoping, recommending, executing and assessing the impact of a price change
- Implement and monitor the rollout of new processes and features
- Identifying process inefficiencies and changing them accordingly
- Act as a thought partner for regional teams across EMEA
- Engage with HQ Product teams to represent our markets and design new products
- Experiment with local markets to innovate on our operations
- Collaborate with Product and Local Operations teams to manage day-to-day performance and configurations of EMEA cities
- Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in an analytical role (Data Analytics, Data Science, Consulting, Tech Operations and similar)
- Intermediate SQL required
- Basic/ Intermediate Statistics
- Strong undergraduate degree, preferably in Statistics / Mathematics / Computer Science / Economics
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
- Strategic & operational problem solving & creativity - you will design solutions that scale to multiple markets
- Strong collaborative approach, good communication skills and desire to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience with A/B testing is beneficial
- Advanced SQL preferred
- Python skills (pandas/ plotting - highly beneficial, basic understanding of ML/Optimisation techniques is a bonus)
