About The RoleWe are building an exciting new team to grow our Uber Direct business in the US&C, and we need people like you to help us bring this team to life! Uber Direct enables merchants to unlock last-mile delivery for their customers via their app or website.As an Operations Manager on our team, your role will be crucial in driving business growth and continuous improvements. You will specifically focus on scaling our operations for Uber Direct by effectively managing Merchant Operations. Your responsibilities will involve enhancing various aspects of merchant operations, including billing, refunds, promotions, and collections.You will work on operational improvements & collaborate with cross-functional partners to help us identify process improvement opportunities. What You'll Do
  • Process Improvements: Critical Thinking is Essential. Develop, implement, and streamline processes to enhance merchant Operations, encompassing billing, refunds, promotion, and collection. The goal is to deliver an exceptional merchant experience and foster business growth through automation and optimization.
  • Operations Management: actively engage with account management teams, sales, and other departments to identify any existing process inefficiencies. By working together, develop innovative solutions and implement them to drive operational efficiency across the organization (e.g. centralizing repeatable processes, performance reporting)
  • Project Management: Proactively scope insights-driven projects to help improve merchant experience; take accountability for project outcomes, ensure delivery on metrics, & keep others informed of progress
  • Data analysis: Analyze sophisticated data, identify the problem’s root causes, build models, and aggregate insights to drive key business decisions and policies. Define critical metrics and develop dashboards to track business performance; report findings to leadership to define long-term strategy and decision-making
  • Stakeholder management: Play a pivotal role in collaborating with various teams involved in Uber Direct, such as Account Management, Sales, Product, Customer Support, and Finance - engage with merchants to ensure an optimal experience
Basic Qualifications
  • 1.5+ years of professional work experience in a related field (start-up, operations, strategy, analytics, tech)
  • Bachelor degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through analytical thinking
  • Strong Analytics. Validated analytical skills and data-driven decision-making and the ability to use data to build models to find opportunities and deliver results (Strong Excel and Basic SQL knowledge is a must)
  • Experience with cross-functional partners and external-facing client
  • Experience in leading process and performance improvements by using data and insights
  • Proven ability to prioritize work strategically and complete objectives while demonstrating solid partner management (Sales, Account Management)
  • Capability to take initiative and easily adapt to a constantly-changing work environment and you are comfortable with ambiguity
  • Experiment and hustle to build quickly. This individual will need to identify and evaluate solutions for short and long-term operational problems
  • Experience working closely and communicating effectively with a diverse set of collaborators in a constantly evolving, rapid-growth environment with tight deadlines
