About the job

The Internal Audit is central to Twilio's continued growth. We work closely with senior management to identify and evaluate key business risks and recommend actions to mitigate risks while improving and maturing processes

Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking an IT Internal Audit Manager to join Twilio's Internal Audit organization. The team is focused on process improvements through operational internal audits, including data analytics to help the business mature processes, allowing efficiency and scalability while maintaining internal controls to mitigate risks. Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, this position will work closely with internal audit teams and other Twilio functional teams to facilitate and manage the SOX assessment program and identify process and system gaps.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Plan, Manage and Perform IT SOX assessment (For ITGCs and IT Application controls), including managing internal and co-source resources, document requests and review of workpapers
  • Drive all aspects of internal audit projects, including planning, testing, execution and reporting.
  • Participate in identifying and documenting control deficiencies, performing impact assessments and partnering with IT compliance team to develop remediation solutions
  • Build relationships and collaborate across functional teams within Twilio to identify process improvement opportunities for efficient, effective and scalable processes, utilizing industry best practices tailored to Twilio.
  • Assist with developing and delivering meaningful data driven executive presentations, including senior leadership
  • Guide and review the work performed by other internal audit personnel, including co-sourced firms
  • Provide advisory support related to SOX considerations for new system development and system changes implementation

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in operational internal audits or management consulting (Big-4 or consulting firm).
  • Strong project management and problem solving in a creative and fast paced environment to drive results timely and on budget.
  • Strong focus on technology risks, not limited to major project developments, Change management, vulnerability management and/or evaluation of DevOps and Cloud Computing risks, IT general controls, and IT application controls, COSO, and COBIT.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and use data to generate insights to inform decisions.
  • Strong understanding of key business processes and respective risks and controls aligned with best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to distill key takeaways quickly and presentation skills that allow effective interactions with business partners.
  • Hold one or more Professional Certifications (CISA, CIA, CISM, CISSP, etc.)
  • Innovative thinker and problem solver with excellent communication skills, ability to distill key takeaways quickly and presentation skills that allow effective interactions with business partners.
  • The ability to work independently and as a team leader and provide appropriate direction to the team members and management.

Desired:

  • Experience with ERP systems, Okta, Workday, Oracle, ServiceNow, and home-grown applications is preferred
  • Experience auditing cloud-based environments highly preferred
  • Experience serving in an advisory role for new system development/system changes implementation is preferred

Location
This role is remote and is not eligible for hire in San Francisco, Oakland or San Jose, CA, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Pennsylvania or the surrounding areas.

Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado $99,360.00-$124,200.00

  • Based in New York, Washington State or California (outside the San Francisco Bay Area): $105,200.00-$131,500.00

The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
