About the team
The Subrogation Processor investigates claims for recovery potential, prepares supporting documentation, and communicates with internal and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for negotiating settlements, initiating arbitration when appropriate, and maintaining an active claims diary. The position focuses on improving claims handling processes, meeting customer satisfaction and performance KPIs, and ensuring accurate documentation of all subrogation activities.
What you will do
Manage an inventory of subrogation claims, including conducting investigations to assess recovery potential and collaborating with stakeholders to drive effective resolution
Partner with the supervisor to negotiate settlements and direct claims to arbitration when necessary
Collaborate with Third-Party Administrators to enhance recovery efforts and assist with subrogation-related file processing
Conduct regular audits to identify subrogation opportunities and ensure claims are actively pursued
Manage and document phone, electronic, and paper communications with customers and other parties
Your profile
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Strong understanding of outbound auto subrogation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software
2+ years of experience in claims handling
1+ year of auto insurance experience
Bonus if you have
4 year college degree
Professional bilingual proficiency in (English/French)
For this role, the target base salary range in Toronto is $44,000-$55,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and the benefits described below. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We encourage you to talk with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits available for this role.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
