At Turion Space, we’re building spacecraft that make space sustainable and secure from orbital debris removal to national security missions. Behind every launch is a highly integrated software stack, and we're looking for a Software Systems Technical Project Manager (TPM) to keep it all moving forward.

This is a critical position that will be working with operators to understand their needs to drive future software development efforts. They will also be coordinating space and ground system work efforts to automate telemetry data collection, software updates, and spacecraft tasking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project deliverables and milestones and drive the execution of complex, cross-functional technical programs from kickoff to delivery
  • Own and manage the Spacecraft Systems Jira boards, sprint cycles, planning cadences, and software releases
  • Project Planning: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, resources, and budget. Define project deliverables and milestones
  • Execution: Lead project execution, coordinating tasks, managing resources, and ensuring alignment with technical requirements and project goals
  • Work closely with Software, GNC, Spacecraft Engineering, Payload, and Mission Operations teams to connect dependencies, identify blockers, and accelerate outcomes
  • Partner with Turion’s customers, mission partners, and executives to track progress, align priorities, and translate technical updates clearly
  • Implement and evolve our technical project management tools and processes from SOPs to retrospectives
  • Convert bug reports, and flight issues into prioritized backlogs and clear action plans

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience managing technical projects in fast-paced aerospace environments
  • Experience with Jira and collaborative development tools (GitLab, Confluence)
  • Able to flex during mission-critical operations
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with developing code (C, C++, Matlab, Simulink, etc).
  • Poised under pressure especially when timelines are tight
  • The ability to work strategically and tactically
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to bridge the gap between engineering and operations
