About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to lead and scale the team responsible for our core Observability Platform. This is a role leading a team of highly skilled Site Reliability Engineers that define the strategy, architecture, and evolution of our monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting platform to empower engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate highly reliable and performant services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Site Reliability Engineers specialising in observability and platform engineering.
Define and execute the team's roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall SRE and company objectives, prioritising platform stability, feature development, and cost efficiency.
Drive wider cultural change by championing SRE principles, observability best practices, and automation across engineering teams.
Drive automation initiatives to reduce operational toil, improve alert quality (reducing noise), and automate common troubleshooting steps.
Observability Platform Strategy & Architecture
Own the end-to-end observability stack (including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting systems), focusing on scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Own and execute on a roadmap for the observability platform & service by building a team of experts on vendor capabilities
Provide service based reporting on the SRE service and observability platform, including cost management/prevention
Strategic alignment by assisting the business in establishing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Indicators (SLIs)
Architect, design, and implement improvements to the observability platform, leveraging OpenTelemetry.
Define and standardise best practices for instrumentation, data collection, query efficiency, and visualisation to ensure actionable insights for all development teams.
Leverage AI/ML for Operational Intelligence: Drive the adoption and integration of AI capabilities within the observability platform.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of engineering management experience leading SRE, Platform, or Observability-focused teams.
5+ years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering
Deep domain expertise in designing, building, and operating high-scale observability platforms (metrics, logging, and tracing)

Strong technical background with experience in:
Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Programming/scripting languages (Python, Go, or similar) for automation and tooling development.
Proven ability to set technical direction, influence technical strategy, and drive architectural decisions in a complex environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with OpenTelemetry and driving its adoption across a large organisation.
