The Enterprise Data Operations team is the central nervous system of Trimble’s data ecosystem, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the scalable pipelines that power our global enterprise. Joining our North American Engineering Center of Excellence in Mexicali, you will leverage a modern stack including Snowflake and dbt to ensure data quality and drive strategic decision-making across our multi-cloud environment.

This role offers the opportunity to act as a technical cornerstone for our Enterprise Data Operations, where you will lead complex data projects from conception to delivery and mentor the next generation of engineers. You will have a direct hand in shaping the long-term strategy of a global data platform while working with cutting-edge tools like Snowflake, dbt, and Microsoft Purview in a truly multi-cloud environment.
Key Exciting Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest diverse data sources into our Snowflake platform.
Utilize dbt to develop and deploy performant data models that support downstream analytics and business intelligence.
Implement advanced data governance and quality frameworks using Microsoft Purview to ensure data is accurate and trusted.
Act as a technical lead and mentor, guiding junior engineers through design discussions and high-level code reviews.
Partner with architects to advocate for best practices and the long-term design strategy of the enterprise data platform.
Essential Skills & Experience
5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience building production-level data pipelines.
Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling with hands-on experience optimizing Snowflake data warehouses.
Proven experience using dbt and Safe FME for managing data transformations in a production environment.
Extensive experience with both Azure and AWS cloud platforms and their core data services.
Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and pipeline automation.
Bonus Points For:
Deep experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or AWS Redshift.
Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
Knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or Azure Event Hubs. •Snowflake or dbt certifications.
