Job Description: ASSOCIATE COMMODITY MANAGER
Job Summary
Associate Commodity Manager and Supply Chain Analyst is a key position responsible for driving critical aspects of the Global Commodity Management activities, including:
· Ensures continuity of supply for TNL factories and Contract Manufacturers to meet scheduled build requirements and ensures support for upsides in demand.
· Drives cost reduction with supply base to meet quarterly and annual targets. Tracks and validate savings flow into Trimble cost structure. Prepares and presents results to executive management.
· Develops and nurtures key supplier relationships at an executive level, leads and supports managing executive reviews and score card cadence.
· Identifies, develops, evaluates and implements tools and processes to improve GCMT performance, efficiency and value.
· Provide support to the GCM Team to close critical supply chain shortages and drive cost reduction projects.
Commoduty Management Responsibilities:
· Manage assigned commodities to support Trimble’s Products sourced and manufactured in multiple geographies to ensure supplier’s performance meets all Trimble requirements.
· Collaborate with Design Engineering and Program teams to support new designs. Develop and implement Sourcing Strategies to optimize cost and ensure supply continuity while meeting Time to Market, Time to Cost and performance requirements.
· Manage key projects from kick-off to implementation. Lead cross functional teams to resource or dual source critical procurement materials to align with GCM global sourcing strategies.
· Develop negotiation and contract management skills including: Pricing Negotiations, Supply Agreements, LTAs, BALs, Buffer, Material Float, and SOW (Statements of Work) / Development Agreements.
· Ensure supply chain flexibility, identify potential risks to production and implement contingency support plans including: die banks, buffer stock agreements, and VMI programs.
· Monitor financial stability of assigned supply base, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted continuity of supply.
· Support Other Commodity Managers with tasks such as: Negotiations, RFQs, Data Analytics and expedites.
· Identify and evaluate new suppliers to support future technical needs, capacity requirements, and optimize total cost.
Supply Chain Analyst Responsibilities:
· Will serve as a key contributor to participate in the ongoing evaluation, development and implementation of new supply chain tools and processes to improve team efficiency and results.
Provides support for GCM team for compiling, consolidating, and analyzing data for various Supply Chain initiatives, such as supplier forecasting, buffer stock analysis, RFQ preparation and negotiations.
Represents GCM Team in a “Super User” role capacity for the Cognos, SmartSheets, and other databases to which consolidates the most critical cost, inventory and supply/demand data across multiple internal and external Supply Chains. This involves collaborating with the GCMs and SQEs to understand and co-develop data and reporting needs and develop, debug, and implement new tools and reports.
Key Skill Set Requirements:
5 + years of progressive experience in all aspects of Purchasing and Supply Chain. Strong experience in all aspects of material and purchasing management with emphasis on the following key areas:
· Background and direct experience in Operations, Direct Procurement, and Commodity Management supporting PLC from NPI, through production ramp and EOL.
· Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Management scheduling software.
· Advanced User of Excel, Google Sheets and SmartSheets.
· Experience in operations system applications such as Oracle, Agile, DOMO and other ERP systems.
· Articulate written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting cross functionally and to all levels of management, both internally and to suppliers.
· Strong team building skills with experience working with Design Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other groups in a multinational organization.
· Demonstrated problem solving and mentoring skills including setting timelines and diligent follow-up to resolve problems and meet product operations requirements.
Education / Experience
· BSEE/BSME or BS/BA Business with technical experience.
· Minimum 5 + years of experience in the Purchasing/Procurement area.
Other Requirements
· Ability to travel with short notice.
