Work Style: Hybrid (3 days in office)
Job Summary
Your primary objective is to create, maintain, and publish internal/external customer-facing user assistance such as hardware and software manuals, datasheets, installation and troubleshooting guides, and release notes for people using CTCT hardware products, according to company processes and standards.
Your experience in technical communications/documentation, knowledge of industry standard tools and practices, succinct communication style suitable for digital/mobile platforms, and aptitude for/willingness to learn about the latest methods of user assistance delivery all contribute towards CTCT’s vision of being the industry standard grade control platform.
This role may involve occasional domestic or international travel.
Key Responsibilities
Generate a variety of internal and external customer-facing documents such as product manuals, datasheets, release notes, troubleshooting guides, installation guides, customer drawings, and 3D models
Perform technical editing, including reviewing user interface and documentation peer reviews
Analyze quarterly product developments to determine the need for creating new material and updating existing material
Maintain a documentation backlog and quarterly delivery plan that is aligned with hardware product team needs
Interview product managers, engineers, testers, documentation users and other experts to understand and extract content for document creation
Perform other research, such as reviewing drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples
Adhere to technical communication and company writing standards, such as the User Assistance style guide and existing documentation formats
Coordinate with other members of the group and other (international) groups
Create or coordinate creation of images and illustrations needed for user documents
Follow established document approval and revision control processes
Maintain hardware product and process documentation repositories

Qualifications / Experience
Experience documenting complex hardware and software
Experience using authoring and publication tools (such as MadCap Flare, Adobe InDesign)
Experience using image editing software (Photoshop, Illustrator)
Experience using source control (such as Git)
Experience adhering to a writing style guide
Experience with CREO is desirable
