Trimble is a very agile business; to ensure we can deliver what Trimble and our clients need, we constantly adapt to changing/evolving technologies and ways of working. This need for agility generates a large number of IT/IS, Operational and Physical projects, which are managed by the Corporate IS team.

Our IT Project Manager position is your opportunity to join our Corporate IS team on a Fixed Term Contract, where you will specialise in delivering IT/IS projects across the UK, Europe and globally. Working in a team of five Project Managers and reporting directly to our Corporate Projects Senior Manager, you will be responsible for delivering multiple small/medium sized projects concurrently.

You will manage internal cross-functional and cross-business project teams within Corporate IS to successfully deliver your assigned projects on time and to the agreed upon standard. To be successful in this role you must be an excellent communicator, who has the ability to delegate effectively whilst ensuring that the project teams are provided with the information and direction to operate effectively.


There is also the potential that you may be the main point of contact for external contractors/stakeholders on certain projects.


You will be responsible for all aspects of project management from scope definition to implementation. Projects range from acquisitions, integrations, as well as divestitures, process changes and system implementations.


Contract Length:
We anticipate this role lasting at least 12 months, possibly up to 18 months based on current and forecasted project loads.


What You Will Do:

  • You will orchestrate end-to-end information system projects, spanning network, server, software enhancements, PC deployments, and more
  • Partner with Corporate IS, Manufacturing Operations teams and internal stakeholders, defining project needs and assessing feasibility
  • Craft meticulous project blueprints, overseeing resource allocation, progress tracking, change control, testing, documentation, training, and ensuring on-budget, on-time delivery
  • It's your chance to lead and innovate in the dynamic world of Corporate IS and Manufacturing Operations projects
  • Successfully work with cross-functional teams to build and develop common PMO processes, tools, and project governance
  • Develop integrated project plans, implementation schedules, resource and cost estimates
  • Obtain agreement with stakeholders on success criteria
  • Create change management procedures
  • Effectively communicate in a timely manner within project teams, stakeholders, impacted groups and influence & escalate issues to ensure project schedules and budgets are met
  • Track progress and maintain published deliverables status
  • Identify risks, plan for unanticipated outcomes, and form appropriate contingency plans

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Preferred 3-5 years of project management/lead roles in cross-functional project teams
  • Demonstrated experience with project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, tools, and approaches
  • Solid organisational skills, results driven, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have ability to develop relationships with internal departments and external vendors
  • Leadership qualities that enable the ability to work well with diverse groups of people and motivate & influence others to achieve objectives
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with little day-to-day management oversight
  • Excellent decision making and creative problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite Workspace
  • Comfortable with ERP, data warehouse, analytics, presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
