We are looking for a high-energy, creative, analytical, and detail-oriented resource manager to join our Professional Services team. As a resource manager, you will oversee internal and subcontracted resource allocation and optimization across our project work and ad-hoc ongoing consulting engagements. The ideal candidate possesses a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.

A successful Resource Manager has passion for delighting our customers (indirectly/directly), builds strong relationships with internal teams, thrives in a fast-paced and complex environment, and utilizes strong communication skills to maintain functional efficiency. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage/oversee key tasks required to resource for forecasted and active Professional Services projects. This position will ensure that project resourcing is accurately managed to assure timeline delivery of contracted projects as well as preparing capacity models required to support business and operational requirements, identify and mitigate risks, and communicate with other stakeholder organizations.

Role Objectives

  • Collaborate with sales, business development, project managers, and stakeholders to understand resource requirements and project timelines.

  • Align resource allocation with project demands and organizational goals.

  • Optimizing resource utilization by identifying and resolving conflicts, bottlenecks or imbalances in resource allocation.

  • In collaboration with the manager of the Project Coordinators and Schedulers, maintain accurate resource records and documentation, including resource schedules, forecasted utilization, and project assignments.

  • Providing guidance and support to project teams in resource-related matters, including staffing, skill requirements and resource acquisition.

  • Own and optimize the resource aspects of our Professional Services Automation tool.

  • Build, maintain, and optimizer the processes and documentation to connect and scale a growing professional services team.

Daily Duties

  • Perform all tasks required to accurately allocate and assign resources to high confidence opportunities and contracted customer facing engagements.

  • Collaborate with project managers and department heads to identify resource requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.

  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of available resources, including personnel, equipment and materials, ensuring their availability and suitability for projects.

  • Build and maintain capacity models to support reporting on current and forecasted staffing levels on a rolling year basis that include in-house and vendor resources.

  • Perpetually monitor current and upcoming staffing requirements based on sales pipeline and company initiatives. Proactively identify and resolve staffing conflicts and constraints; alerting department management of client impacting issues which cannot be resolved outside an escalation.

  • Create and produce accurate reporting as required to support business requirements; analyze and report on key business metrics related to staffing and utilization.

  • Arrange and conduct regularly scheduled meetings with key stakeholders to review current and future assignment requirements, informing Professional Services Management of unresolved instances of over allocation/underutilization.

  • Implement and maintain resource management tools, systems and processes to enhance visibility, transparency and efficiency.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements for the resourcing function.

  • Other related duties as required.

About Your Location

In a hybrid role, you will work with your manager to establish a mutually agreeable schedule for your time worked in the office based on the position and the business need. Typically hybrid positions are 1-3 days per week, or 20%-60% of the month in the office.
