Position Overview

The Transportation Enterprise TMS product leader will be responsible for setting and delivering on product strategy for all existing order-to-cash products and services, including Innovative, TruckMate, and TMWSuite.

  • The leader will be responsible for unifying and implementing standardized processes, cleaning up our TMS product portfolio, and improving capital allocation across our current TMS product, engineering, professional service, and support resources by refocusing development effort on a limited set of initiatives that drive significant customer value and market adoption, streamlining our portfolio, and demonstrating tangible innovation to the market.
  • The product leader will be expected to increasingly drive existing product innovation and engineering to the cloud and to work intimately with the our next generation cloud-native TMS product management lead in defining a phased strategy to transition existing customers in a manner that avoids ‘rip & replace’ and that enables us to deliver short-term innovation and value without requiring our customers to wait years before migrating to an entirely cloud native solution.
  • The product leader will be responsible for working closely with customers and peers across the sector, for organizing, improving, and performance managing teams, and for setting goals, strategies, and unified roadmaps Adoption of a cloud and API first mentality and data/analytics acumen will be critical to the success of this role,
  • Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of consistently and successfully building products, delivering successful customer outcomes, and of effectively leading diverse teams.
  • The product leader must be comfortable engaging in technical and commercial conversations both internally and externally. We seek an extremely entrepreneurial product leader to help innovate and execute product initiatives across our TMS portfolio and to create value moving quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve gross and operating income margin by creating simpler bundles and go-to-market for our TMS products using standardized offerings that include professional service work
  • Set and implement product strategy for our current transportation management products while responding to the needs of the market, our customers, and product partners
  • Work closely with our next generation cloud-native TMS product leader to provide our customer base with a clear and compelling picture of where our TMS products will be in five years, what is the path, and how we will migrate our core capabilities to the cloud. Collaborate with engineering and operations to subsequently deliver to this plan.
  • Lead, organize, and develop our TMWSuite, Truckmate, and Innovative product management organization. Work with sector and divisional product, product marketing, and operations teams to establish, enhance, and refine all product management operations and processes and customer value propositions
  • Lead the team through ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products in an agile environment
  • Strategically streamline the TMS product portfolio by working with business and engineering teams to identify and prioritize unprofitable legacy products. Establishing and execute on associated end-of-life programs
  • Accelerate delivery of short-term value to customers through existing products, taking a cloud and API-first approach and by leveraging cloud-native services and workflows whenever possible
  • Consolidate the organization's needs into a communicable, actionable, and comprehensive roadmap and execution plan.
  • Define requirements, GTM delivery, and subscription pricing models and simplify user journeys.
  • Integrate usability studies, research, and market analysis into product requirements that enhance user satisfaction
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of our products and simplify our development and delivery principles via industry cloud
  • Manage multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure organizational effectiveness and health. Set up the organization for success by establishing clear and measurable goals
  • Work with outbound teams to drive customer adoption and measure customer success throughout the product life cycle
  • Improve our GTM and how new products are introduced to internal teams

Required Qualifications

  • Successful experience in Product Management (or equivalent experience with MBA) with demonstrable portfolio responsibilities
  • Background with Web technologies (Web Services, Web Applications, Relational databases) is strongly preferred
  • Experience with SaaS, cloud/mobile and/or platform product development. Proficiency with data/analytics and web/API-enabled software products
  • Experience driving positive change within teams
  • Experience setting goals and focusing on measurable results
  • World-class written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to engage in strategic discussions: define, collect, and deliver product/GTM metrics/analysis and make data-based recommendations; and determine trade-offs and drive the discussion towards decisions.
