Over the longer-term, Transcelestial aims to develop a constellation of small satellites positioned in Low Earth Orbit, allowing their laser network to not only beam across cities but upwards to connect continents across the world too.

Senior Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager (“Steward of Coins”) to join our rapidly growing startup. This individual will play a critical role in building and scaling our financial operations, working closely with the Head of Operations, Chip Wilcox (https://www.linkedin.com/in/chipwilcox/), and our Founders, Rohit Jha (https://www.linkedin.com/in/rohitrj/) and Dr. Mohammad Danesh (https://www.linkedin.com/in/modanesh/). The ideal candidate possesses a strong accounting background, preferably with experience in a fast growing startup firm, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A commitment to operational excellence and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Accounting & Finance:

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
  
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and quarter-end closing processes, providing clear reporting and analysis to the Head of Operations and Founders.
  

Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth financial statement analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  
• Collaborate with team leads, the Head of Operations, and Founders on budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  
• Lead the preparation of quarterly board of directors and investor reports, providing clear and concise financial insights.
  

Systems & Process Improvement:

• Contribute to the planning and implementation of new processes and systems, including MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and accounting system integration, and automation using third-party services (e.g., Travel & Expense Management tools). We use - Xero, WegoPro, MRPEasy.
  
• Continuously improve and streamline reporting, accounting, and cash management processes related to manufacturing, quality management, and supply chain (discipline the buyer!).
  

Stakeholder Management & Reporting:

• Liaise with external auditors during year-end audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  
• Support investor relations activities by providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis to existing and prospective investors.
  
• Prepare clear and concise financial presentations and reports to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  

Other Responsibilities:

• Identify and pursue relevant business grants, coordinating application submissions in Singapore and internationally.
  
• Work with in-house Buyer & Manufacturing Team to structure favourable payment terms with suppliers/vendors for effective stock and inventory management.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Corporate Finance or equivalent, with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  
• Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP, and consolidations (we are working extensively with the US market and will have an office there soon, with its own P&L).
  
• Working knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, compliance, and tax regulations.
  
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Excellent communication and analytical skills. Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-accounting professionals
  
• Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative team player. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  
• Experience using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  
• Prior experience in startups or technology companies, particularly in the hardware and/or manufacturing sector.
  

It is a bonus if you:

• CFA (any level) or MBA Finance is preferred but not necessary.
  
• Experience working with Auditors
  
• Experience with cloud accounting systems (e.g., Xero) and MRP systems (e.g., MRPEasy).
  
• Experience supporting or managing financial systems implementation/migration projects in startups or SMEs.
  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-accounting professionals.
  
• Working knowledge of US/Australia accounting standards, compliance, and tax regulations.
