We are looking for curious and bright software developers to join our distributed development team. The experience (and future opportunities) includes developing software for navigation systems, working on our online services and mobile SDKs APIs, and providing the best possible user experience to drivers and best-in-class APIs of our Navigation SDK. You will be working in a hybrid environment, with the flexibility to work remotely or meet the team at the office.
What you'll do:
- Work in an engineering team to conceive, implement, test and maintain great new features.
- Deliver comprehensive automated tests alongside the features you deliver, and take pride and ownership in your work through to shipping and beyond, including defect fixing
- Participate actively in maintaining the quality and architectural integrity of the software by designing features and frameworks with modularity and maintainability in mind, identifying and executing refactoring improvements alongside feature increments, and help hold everyone to the same standard through code reviews
- Collaborate closely with other teams within TomTom Navigation
What you'll need:
- You must be enrolled in a University throughout the entire duration of the internship
- Experience in Swift or Objective-C is highly desirable
- Experience developing apps in Xcode
- Familiarity with Git
- Familiarity with scripting language like Ruby would be a good plus
- Knowledge of Design Patterns, SOLID and Clean Code principles
- Technical and analytical skills with a high level of empathy and a genuine interest in humans
- Passion for continuous improvement and experimentation
- Desire to learn and expand your skill set
- Excellent communicative English skills both written and spoken

We are the Map Visualization Product Unit. We develop map rendering technology that can be integrated into navigation systems and location-based applications, providing our technology to our customers in the form of cloud-based APIs and SDKs.
