As a Software Engineering Manager I in PU Apps, you will lead a cross-platform team developing our flagship mobile application, aiming to redefine navigation and enhance user experience for drivers. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions while leveraging community input and market insights.
What you will do:
  • As an engineering manager your main priority is to have a happy team that is enabled to go as fast as possible without compromising quality.
  • Ensure a high-performing team of 6-10 engineers
  • Team Leadership: Mentor software engineers to foster growth and development.
  • Project Management: Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of quality solutions.
  • Technical Direction: Define strategies, standards, and best practices with engineers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product managers and stakeholders to prioritize tasks and meet customer needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement processes to ensure quality such as code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks early for smooth project execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote innovation and efficiency in software development practices.
What you'll need:
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years in software development, including 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Track Record: Proven success in leading teams and delivering timely projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in either Kotlin or Swift
  • Leadership: Experience in guiding technical direction and designs
  • Preferred experience in mobile development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills focused on driving results and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
