Deputy CTO (M/F)
In this role, you will act as the CTO’s operational and organizational extension, ensuring smooth coordination of product-related efforts, structured internal communication, and efficient follow-up on
ThrustMe is a fast-growing startup in the space sector, founded in 2017 with the mission to enable sustainable use of space by delivering advanced satellite mobility solutions to our clients worldwide. We are experts in satellite space propulsion and made history in 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of an iodine-fueled electric propulsion system. Today, we are delivering propulsion systems to large satellite constellation clients in Europe, Asia, and North America. We made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fuelled electric propulsion systems. Today, we are experiencing rapid growth, with over 400 systems ordered to date and above 200 delivered.
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual to support our CTO in driving technical execution, strategic planning, and team coordination across R&D and production. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing deep-tech company in the space industry, where you will gain a comprehensive view of how breakthrough technologies are brought from concept to launch.
In this role, you will act as the CTO’s operational and organizational extension, ensuring smooth coordination of product-related efforts, structured internal communication, and efficient follow-up on key initiatives — without being expected to make technical decisions.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate product-related initiatives by supporting the planning, tracking, and reporting of ongoing developments.
- Follow up on R&D and production activities, providing administrative and organizational assistance on selected projects identified by the CTO.
- Collect and consolidate key data from the engineering, production, and R&D teams to generate high-quality reports and dashboards that feed into strategic decision-making.
- Support the planning and evolution of the technology roadmap by maintaining timelines, documentation, and ensuring that interdependencies are tracked and addressed.
- Facilitate internal communication of the tech strategy by helping to prepare presentations, summaries, and internal updates that translate technical vision into clear messaging.
- Ensure consistent monitoring of strategic projects, maintaining tracking tools and timelines, following up with stakeholders, and surfacing potential risks or blockers.
- Attend selected meetings (internal and external) to take notes, track action items, and follow up with relevant team members — always acting as a support function, not as a decision-maker or representative.
Skills and qualifications:
- PhD (preferred) or master’s degree in engineering, physics or tech project coordination (or a related field).
- Strong experience in a tech focused environment (ideally in startup or scale-up setting)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Being able managing multiple priorities in parallel.
- Analytical and structured, with a knack for creating clarity from complex or technical information.
- Are highly trustworthy, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive or strategic information with professionalism.
- Proficiency in both French and English (soft requirement).
The successful candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for space technologies and great communication skills. Experience with a high-tech production line is a plus. We value a proactive mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
