Electrical Engineer [AIT]
The Exploration Company
Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to play a key role in designing, developing, and overseeing the deployment of electrical systems for our various propulsion test benches.
This is a dynamic, hands-on engineering position that combines systems-level thinking with practical implementation, demanding both deep technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of electrical systems and architecture for propulsion test benches, including power distribution, signal conditioning, and control systems.
Specify and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams to ensure system integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Contribute to the fabrication and testing of electrical cabinets and harnesses.
Collaborate with the team to integrate sensors, actuators, power supplies, and DAQ systems.
Conduct system-level troubleshooting and debugging, using advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs).
Perform root cause analysis and implement engineering solutions to improve system robustness and reliability.
Provide technical leadership during assembly, commissioning, and test operations.
Document all designs, test results, and configuration changes; contribute to standard operating procedures and risk assessments.
Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety and regulatory standards.
What we would love to see from you:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
Over 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, in an aerospace propulsion testing environment.
Strong understanding of electrical design principles, system integration, and instrumentation.
Proven experience working with wire harness design, routing, and integration in complex systems.
Hands-on experience with cabling and harness manufacturing
Proficiency in using common electrical test equipment and CAD tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical).
Knowledge of electrical standards and best practices for high-reliability applications
Familiarity with test bench operations would be a plus
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a hands-on approach.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
