Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

The heart of a spacecraft lies in its propulsion system, and that's why we, at The Exploration Company, are dedicated to developing our own cutting-edge Propulsion Systems ensuring the highest level of efficiency and reliability in our space endeavours.

We want you as a talented Fluid Test Senior Engineer to help us in our mission by implementing and conducting the testing activities of our fluid systems and fluid components.

In your capacity as a Fluid Test Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, verification, and validation of propulsion fluid components and assemblies.

You will report to the Propulsion System Principal Test Engineer.

Key responsibilities:

• Working hand in hand with development engineers to design and build test benches for fluid components and propulsion fluid systems.

• Selecting components and assembling test and ground support equipment with minimal oversight, including gaseous and liquid feed systems, and control and data acquisition systems (electronics and software).

• Developing test plans and schedules consistent with requirements and timelines, executing daily test operations and generating test reports.

• Autonomously leading risk assessment analyses and developing mitigation actions to ensure personnel and hardware safety, developing clear procedures and guidelines to improve company processes.

• Defining, planning, and completing testing with external partners.

• Collaborating with other engineers to troubleshoot test anomalies and tackle challenging engineering problems.

What we would love to see from you:

• Minimum B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other related engineering field.

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in propulsion system design, fabrication, and testing.

• Very good understanding of fluid component selection and assembly, including tubing, fittings, sealing types and materials.

• Proficiency in operating small shop machinery such as a drill press, Dremel, bandsaw, or sander.

• Strong understanding, integration and operations of control and data acquisition systems, and ability to assemble electronic systems for ground use.

• Expertise with CAD software with an emphasis on producing complex assemblies relevant to a test bench (preferably NX/TeamCenter).

• Experience in integrating and safely operating complex fluid systems using high-pressure gas and/or flammable materials.

• A strong desire to work autonomously in the lab/workshop and a scrappy mindset!

• Excellent collaboration skills for working effectively across departments.

• Fluency in English.
