Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented MAIT Electrical and Test Technician to help us in our mission by:

  • Being involved in any type of operations for the Exploration Company in our factory, like all the electrical operations on our orbital capsules, assembly operations, harness wiring but also any type of electrical tests (including RF) and setup for these tests

  • setting up the factory and the EGSE (Electrical Ground support equipments) that we will have to install

  • working closely together with the MAIT Electrical Engineer and Lead AIT but also with any other engineers or technicians in AIT

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as MAIT Electrical and Test Technician, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

  • You will help the MAIT Electrical Engineer to setup a good work environment, for example identifying any missing tool to do properly all the electrical/harness activities including the tests. You will also work on the organisation and management of all these tools.

  • You will support the writing of the procedures detailing the tests to be performed to validate and qualify all the electrical (power, GNC/avionics, RF/TCR) and propulsion subsystems (in Odoo MES TBC) under the lead of the MAIT electrical engineer and with the electrical design team.

  • You will be involved and responsible of the good execution of the electrical operations and test on the capsules, following procedures and documenting all the anomalies or deviations

  • You will be involved in the resolutions of anomalies happening during the integration and tests.

  • You will give your feedback and report any problem to the MAIT electrical engineer or Lead AIT. We will all work on a continuous improvement pattern to make sure we will fit with the quality standard.

What we would love to see from you

In the role of MAIT Electrical and Test Technician ideally, you will have the following:

  • Electrical or Physics Degree as a technician or bachelor (2 years after High school)

  • Technician who likes hands on work but also accurate work

  • A previous experience (2 or 3 years) in building space vehicles would be appreciated

Skills and Behaviours

  • Strong organising and prioritisation of tasks

  • Used to running some tests of flight hardware via a computer Interface (running tests script, sending TC and analysing TM etc...)

  • Used to standard electrical testing devices (Multimeters, oscilloscopes, current probe, breakout boxes... possibly spectrum analyser)

  • Wiring and cabling operations (stripping, crimping, control, connections etc...)

  • Positive and flexible attitude to get the job done

  • Wishes to accomplish a good job and likes all the details to be covered but without over-quality

  • Rigorous and insure a good traceability

  • Problem solver, be proactive but always with the team agreement
