Accountant
The Exploration Company
Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
The Accountant will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, including preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and assisting with budget planning. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Reporting: Assisting with preparation and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoicing, payments, and reconciliation of accounts. • General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
• Audit Support and external providers: Assist with internal and external audits, along with other external providers by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial statements.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and laws.
What we would love to see from you
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1+ years of accounting/audit experience.
• Good knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English and Italian (advantage)
