Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Mission Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Mission Assurance & Quality, the Mission Assurance Manager will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful execution of customer deliverables. The Mission Assurance Manager teams with, and provides independent assurance for, Program Managers to deliver affordable, high-performance space systems that meet internal engineering and manufacturing specifications and customer contract requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate and partner with internal program management, engineering, manufacturing, quality, operational functions, to ensure program performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met and risks are adequately managed.
- Interface and partner with external customer quality assurance to resolve non-conformances, notifications, RCCAs, and requests for deviation/waiver.
- Actively participate in design, manufacturing, test, shipment, and other readiness reviews and evaluations.
- Perform proposal reviews for and lead the implementation and delivery of mission and product assurance Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables.
- Provide leadership to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor issues and risks in collaboration with program management, engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
- Participate in Material Review Board, Engineering Review Board, and Failure Review Board activities as required.
- Track non-conformance status to ensure notification, disposition, periodic reporting, and closure prior to program delivery.
- Perform internal reviews to ensure modules are acceptable for delivery to programs.
- Collaborate with Mission Assurance stakeholders including system and reliability engineers, parts engineering, and technical subject matter experts.
- May perform reliability analyses, failure analyses and/or root cause analyses (RCCA) as needed to improve design, production, and support program deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or relevant STEM discipline or engineering Associate’s degree with at least 8 years of aerospace Mission Assurance experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a key Mission Assurance or Product Assurance role
- Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Quality Assurance, System Safety Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) Engineering
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and processes
- Demonstrated teamwork with strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to communicate across organizational boundaries and at all levels
- Experience implementing Mission Assurance and Quality-related industry, government and European standards
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
Additional Differentiators
- Bachelor's degree in an electrical engineering or EEE discipline
- Master’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, or business administration
- 6+ years of Mission Assurance experience in aerospace industry
- Experience with aerospace customers and their mission/product assurance standards
- Concept-to-design-to-manufacturing-to-delivery experience with spacecraft missions
- Understanding of satellites, payloads, and ground systems used for space vehicles
- Software quality experience

Physical Demands
