About the Role:
Taara is looking to hire a DevOps Software Engineer to support the team building the next generation operating system for wireless broadband networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of managing GitHub and Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, Google Workspaces, Linux and Windows administration, basic networking skills, lab equipment operation, programming languages such as Python, Go or C/C++, and scripting languages such as bash.
How you will make 10x impact:
Provide DevOps support for the software, hardware and other teams
Manage GitHub infrastructure (repositories, ACLs, CI/CD, runners, actions)
Integrate and configure Google workspaces with GitHub and other applications
Identify processes that can be automated, addressing bottlenecks and proposing optimizations
Propose and implement security models for IoT devices
Set up, configure and troubleshoot basic networking infrastructure
Program and operate simple embedded devices such as the Raspberry Pi
What you should have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience working on Linux-based operating systems or similar
Strong experience in GitHub infrastructure including repository management, ACLs, CI/CD, runners and actions
Experience with Cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
Experience with containerization and job management, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
Programming skills in Python, Go or C/C++ for test/infrastructure automation
Basic knowledge of security protocols such as SSL/TLS, HTTPS, and JWT
Basic embedded systems experience
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in the Sunnyvale office at least 3 days per week
It would be great if you also had these:
Familiarity with package managers for Kubernetes like Helm
Experience interacting with gRPC services
Experience developing system-level software for IoT devices
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Grafana and Prometheus
Experience working in start-up like environments where things can change on a dime
Joy in learning new technologies, learning from your teammates and teaching them as well!
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $185,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
