Our Work Experience offers School and College Students the chance to spend one week, working alongside our experienced IT professionals to get an insight into our world of Engineering, whilst gaining some new, invaluable skills for the future.

The dates available for IT work experience are:

2nd to 6th June

7th to 11th July

11th to 15th August

Key Tasks

We are thrilled to be able offer work experience here at SSTL for the summer of 2025. We are looking for Years 10 to 13 who have an interest in gaining valuable experience within the Space Industry.

During this week, students will receive a tour of SSTL and get the chance to get a real hands-on experience of what it is like to be working in IT within the Space industry.

SSTL do not expect applicants to have any prior knowledge or previous experience within IT but showing a keen interest in this direction of career is desirable.

SSTL endeavour to offer work experience to as many students as possible, therefore due to the high number of applicants we are unable to accept applications from students who have previously completed the programme.

Location

Work experience will be based in our head office in Guildford and will be Monday to Friday. Our office provides free parking, secure bike lock and easy access via shuttle bus from Guildford town centre and train station. We have an onsite (card only) canteen and ample tea and coffee stations throughout.
